What positive changes have happened for people with HAE, in your country, from 2012 to now?

The positive changes that have happened for people with HAE in Spain include increasing awareness of HAE through AEDAF and the expert group of Spanish physicians (Spanish Study Group on Bradykinin-Induced Angioedema (SGBA)), the research and clinical trials that take place in the country, and approval and commercialization of several HAE medications.

What is the biggest achievement for people with HAE, in your country, from 2012 to now?

The biggest achievement for people with HAE in Spain is increased access to several modern HAE medications and the possibility of having them at home and learning self-administration.

What is the resource, event or activity that you are most proud of organizing for people with HAE in your country, from 2012 to now?

The resource, event or activity that we are most proud of organizing for people with HAE in Spain is the Annual Meeting and General Assembly, and in particular our 20th anniversary Annual Meeting and General Assembly in 2018, as well as the Camino de Santiago event for hae day :-) in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

What support/ resources have you used from HAEi? What has HAEi helped you to achieve?

The support/resources we have used from HAEi are website hosting, using HAEi Connect, attendance to the HAE Global Conference, and HAEi presenting at several Annual Meetings.

Your Next Step… What do you want to achieve for people with HAE in your country by 2030?

What we want to achieve for people with HAE in Spain by 2030 is more equal access to HAE medications and greater consensus among treating physicians regarding the use and home availability of HAE medications all over the country.
